A khaasa is an all purpose blanket primarily used by the nomadic peoples in the Saharan regions where the evenings are cool. khaasa's are admired for their simple elegant designs and were often traded south where they were used for special occasions. This is an older example with a very fine tight weave, made from cotton with the designs in sheep's wool. Measures 50" by 100".
